Best time to visit

Western Canada and Alaska covers a vast region stretching from the US border up towards the Arctic Circle and to the Pacific- as such, weather varies dramatically. The spring weather can arrive as early as late Feb in Whistler but arrives in April in Alaska. Summer is from late May to Sept and is the best time to visit Alaska and the national parks of the west. Winter starts in November, the ski season in the wst is traditionally from December and can go through ti April.

Eastern Canada covers a vast region stretching from the Great Lakes through to the Arctic Circle and bordering the Atlantic, temperatures vary dramatically. Toronto, Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa have hot summers starting around May/June through to mid September, autumn brings an amazing display of colors and is one of the best times to visit starting mid September through to October. Winter can be harsh with snow beginning to fall in November and temperatures dipping below freezing for long periods until as late as April. Spring is short with temperatures warming up in April with a mix of cool and very warm temperatures until June when summer time begins.
