Affectionately know as the ‘Sunshine State’, Queensland offers something for everyone; from the popular holiday resorts of the Gold and Sunshine coasts, to the beautiful unspoiled scenery of the Whitsunday Islands; and from the lush tropical rain-forests and sugar-cane plantations around Cairns and Port Douglas, to the stunning Great Barrier Reef lying just offshore. Its stunning spectrum of colours has to be seen to be believed., and no visit to Australia would be complete without a visit to the underwater paradise.

Queensland is warm year-round. In the northern tropics, around Cairns and Port Douglas, summer (Dec-Mar) brings a huge amount of rainfall meaning winter (May-Oct) is a better time to visit with temperatures averaging around 30°c.
